Remember to hydrate yourself on friday and have LIGHT breakfast on saturday morning. I strongly advise that you girls change into your attire before you go, as there are only portable and limited toilets there, trust me the smell is "pleasant".
Go through the moves in your head, visualise what you want to do for the match and have an early rest on friday. It doesn't matter if your team win or lose, just do your best and take this as a learning experience. Lastly, have fun and enjoy the game! GO BLAZE!

We've received a notice from Mr Guru that we've to clock in our timing for NAPFA as soon as possible.

This applies to both SENIORS and JUNIORS.
And yes, there is a requirement that we have to meet before we can take part in POL-ITE and IVP.

The requirements are as follow:

2.4km run :less than 16minute 20seconds
Inclined pull ups : more than 7

For those who do not own a pair of sports shoes, please purchase one ASAP.
The clock-in date is not confirmed for the time being as we have to ensure that everyone has a pair of sports shoes.

On a saturday blazing hot morning, we participated in SP Junior Touch. Played a total of 7 matches. Scores and opponent are as shown below.

1st match- NYP vs TP 0-2
2nd match- NYP vs PJ2 1-2
3rd match- NYP vs BBSS 0-1
4th match- NYP vs PJ1 1-0
5th match- NYP vs SP 0-0
6th match- NYP vs NJC 0-3

1 win, 2 draw, 4 lose

Although at the end of the day, we won nothing back. But definelty it was a good exposure for all of us, what we gain was priceless, the experience and the bond of our team.

and and and the juniors had went for a session of power step/ fitness with eunice on Tuesday.
they even have another session today!

NYP had also sent in a team in the bucks tournament which is still ongoing on saturdays and it consist of mostly the juniors.
this is really a great exposure for them.

"the final match proved to be a tough fight against NYP and SP.
it was 0-0 after the first half,
where both teams fought real hard for a touch down.
5 minutes into the 2nd half,
NYP managed to score a touchdown through a beautiful commit and pass by pipi, amirah and sam.
eunice boasted,"i gave pipi tutorials and told her there's 3V2, that's why she split in."
that touch down truly boosted NYP's morale,
which led to another touch down within minutes after the first touch down.
the 2nd one was scored through a "rock" with dna switching with babe,
it seems like the ball would be a drop ball,
but babe would not let it off so easily and she stretched her arms out to catch the ball.
after which she dived for a touchdown.
SP did not give up and fought real hard to gain a touch down.
that made NYP defended real hard.
the supporters on NYP's side were nervously biting their nails while counting down to the time...
after the final hooter goes,
NYP touch rugby team and its supporters cheered wildly.
the final score was 2-0."

good job girls!
we waited 4 years for this.
(okies, not us, but for pipi,gen and eunice)XD

not to forget,
congrats to pipi,gen and eunice for being in the all stars team (merit players)!

we did not give up and fought hard.

I know things have been pretty rough on us this year. From the change in coach, to team disagreement to news that school might gonna cut us. But please, please cast those aside. Instead think of ways you can make yourself useful to the team. Exploit each others strengths and weakness.

The season we've been training for is here. POL-ITE is THIS MONTH! There's no time for anything but for us to work as a team and see what we can do to achieve something.

Yes. Good players we have. But we cant possibly just depend on them to do miracles for us. Supports have gotta be there!

Rugby is a team sport, where everyone play for the player beside her. Nobody is to be overlooked. Everybody have to accept their role. Everyone needs the person beside them to do her job

The gist of the message here is that NO TIME ALR, NEED TO START PLAYING AS A TEAM!

By playing as a team, we need all to be committed to training. Committement does not only means coming down for training. It also means turning up ON TIME! Putting in 100% in whatever you do on the field. Once on the field is like fighting a war. We need to see BETTER DISCIPLINE AND URGENCY! How else are we going to perform when we couldnt even achieve these?

Let us set things straight now, Trainings will ALWAYS be on unless otherwise stated. The day, the time, the place you all know. So be there. EARLY/ON TIME. Unable to make it, text me. But i do hope all to give 100% attendance.

Let's all win something for NYP! Make the effort to push yourself. On your own, work on your fitness.

A story to share:

There's his little guy who wants to test his ability. So he took a flight to the giant's village. 3 fights were set up. He gets in the ring, and bam, bam, bam, the giant flattens him. In the second fight, he lasted to the third round, but then, bam, bam, bam, the giant flattens him.

Before the third fight, he starts thinking. "That bam, bam, bam stuff was pretty painful. I think I'll wrap myself up tight in these cloths and bandages so that it won't be so painful when I get hit." So, he wraps himself up like a mummy, gets in the ring, and since he can barely move, it's bam, bam, bam again, flattened in the first round. But no physical pain, at least.

He gets back on the plane, and on the flight home he suddenly experiences a pain greater than anything the giant had inflicted. For he realizes he hadn't done his best.

MY FIRST POST FOR THIS BLOG!XD
anyway, decided to blog here since its like so DEAD already.

first of all,
HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY TO PIPI AND FANA!

had a mini celebration for them,
with 21 different birthday cakes and an obstacle course for them to go through.

obstacle 1
spin 21 rounds and pick up cones scattered around the field.

obstacle 2
eat a pie each as fast as they can.

obstacle 3
find 3 ribena sweets in a mountain of flour.

Pipi was the ultimate winner,
which i believe no one can beat her in the "eat as fast as you can" contest. XD
and fana had to do a forfeit.
that was how we celebrated their birthday.(:

we had training with the year 1s,
which i heard today's numbers of the year 1s was much better.
we did the usuals of 50%,75% &100% full field drills,
which was !#$^^&%* tiring. (maybe it's just me)
and some sprinting 1 V 1 game. (i like!)
We still thought training would be super slack with the year 1s. -.-

A new semester will be greeting us sooon. And you know what that means, it means to be busy with NYP annual clubcrawl preparations lol -.-

The deadline for the submission of the Hanging Board Designs is on 8th March 2009. It is not compulsory, but if a design is not submitted, Rugby will not have a Hanging Board to display. (now you wouldnt want that to happen yea?)

And because the dateline is like sooon, i couldnt get everyone down to discuss the banner design. But i've seek help from Julia. She already had our BLAZE logo drawn out. Opinions please!

Despite getting jul's to do the banner design, i would appreciate all to help abit by contributing some ideas yes. You can email/text/call me. By thursday. Then maybe some of us (those who are free) can meet up to discuss more about it. K thats all for now love you girls

Just to let you know,
players who are not involved in STL, you guys can still feel free to come for blacks training. EveryMonday and Wednesay 7pm at SA astro turf. I strongly encourage all to be there since 1. we stopped training for close to a month already 2. NYP training have yet to resume 3. Blacks training really teaches you the correct way to execute a move

Juniors please remember there will be a game for you at SP on the 15th March a sunday. I've already signed you guys up for it. Withdrawal from game will not be entertained k! So, remember to keep that day free.
